Podcasting Get Up
Well folks, I gotta tell ya, I have been more than impressed with podcasting as an evolving media form. So much in fact that I have decided to start my very own podcast called "Trend Radio." The show will be produced on a "go with the flow" basis, nothing formal here..... yet :-)
The last few weeks have been very productive in getting "Trend Radio" going. I successfully set up a pretty decent (I must say) podcasting studio. Below is a break out of my entire "get up" for any of you out there who are interested in learning how to podcast or are just curious as to what is involved. I was looking online just the other night and found barely ANY resources out there (I admit I did not spend a LOT of time looking), although I am sure there are plenty. Needless to say, this cant hurt ;-)
The Get Up:
Microphone: Shure SM57 (Goose neck mike stand)
Headphones: Koss Pro 3AA Titaniums (any decent headphones will do)
Mixer: Tascam Portastudio 424 mkII (used only for mixing multiple audio sources)
Input: External Creative Sound Blaster (USB)
Software: MediaSource (Creative)
File Output: MP3 192kbps
Please note there are MANY ways in terms of gear and equipment to create quality podcasts, this is only the route I chose to go for now as I had most of the gear already. If you are starting out - I would recommend you just use software and a decent microphone and headphones.
In the spirit of effort, I humbly place the link to my first podcasting attempt. (MP3 format - 4 min)
Comments welcome.
I will be posting the first edition of Trend Radio soon.
