Citizen Media Monetized

Check out Scoopt, a new UK based start up that is providing a way for people to sell their photographs to the media. It is a very simple concept and works like this: If you happened to be at the right place at the right time with your camera phone or digital camera and want to sell your shot, Scoopt acts as the broker who will try to sell your photo. If they sell your photo, they split the money 50/50 with you. Not a bad little option for those lucky folks who happen to get great shots of current events or other things…..

“we bridge the gap between amateur photographer and picture desk - and by ‘amateur’, we mean anybody with a digital camera or a cameraphone who just happens to be in the right place at the right time.”

Great! This is what we’ve been missing for some time! I still haven’t a camera phone but my palm will do :)

I’ve been in the right place at the right moment in so many occasions… but had not the right stuff with me :D
