Dropping Some NYC

Hola from NYC! I got up here yesterday after a long lapse of time since my last visit. This time, the visit is purely for fun and pleasure, with a hint of business that takes the form of a trade show called Extracts at the Javits Center. My wife owns an aromatherapy boutique and massage studio, so every year we come up and check out the new products. Its a really cool show and you always walk out with a ton of new stuff to check out.

However, before we get there, we had quite a Friday night, we worked the city a bit. First we hit happy hour at the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station, some great wines and yeah you guessed it, oysters ;-) . We enjoyed the Kumumoto’s from Oregon. If you haven’t been to the Oyster Bar its a must experience in NYC. We then proceeded to have one of the best vegetarian meals of all time at a place called Gobo. I had southern style seitan strips over quinoa and vegetables. Oh man :-)

We capped the night off at the killer lounge at the Royalton hotel on 44th St. As they say “hotel as theatre.” We have been going there for drinks for 3 years on and off, its truly one of those special places to start or end the night.

Now its Saturday am and we are off to Extracts to see whats new in the world of personal care and wellness :-)

More later. Ciao!
